Truth: I love newborn babies. Especially when it's the first born. There's something so intimately sweet about being around a new mom and dad trying to muddle their way through that first month. The tired yet never ending incredulous gaze, hours spent marveling at their tiny new human and the absolute flip you upside down change that's just happened to two people - I love it, it feeds my heart. At my old company, I worked side by side with Christina throughout the entirety of her pregnancy. Carolyn + Adam [Ohio farm/Devil’s Lake Yacht Club]

Not too far from where I grew up, there is a working dairy farm that served as the site for a wedding I photographed last summer. I knew from the moment I met Carolyn and Adam just how special their day was going to be. The setup: a small, intimate ceremony on the grounds of her parents' farm after which guests would stroll through her father's lovingly cultivated heirloom rose gardens, drinks in hand. hello 2016, you lovely thing [part one]
