happy new year! keeping in the spirit of photo bloggers far & wide, i thought i’d take a moment to collect my thoughts and share with you a few of my favorite wedding/engagement images from 2015. but first, if you’ll indulge me, a few words about 2015…
wow. what a freakin’ year. in november, i left my full-time position of 4 1/2 years to pursue my wedding + family photography biz. it felt like the timing was right so i went for it, knees shaking the entire way. this is where it gets a bit sappy, so if you’re not feelin’ it right now i totally get it [skip on down to the images]. leaving my former company was tough. we were like a small family and i’m still missing my coworkers something fierce. i chose to make the move because i had been playing it safe for too long. i had the luxury of a full-time income and my motivation to build my business wavered and stagnated a bit. i was comfortable and i needed to shake it up to really understand if i’m cut out for this industry. it took a lot of soul searching, tears and guts to take my leap. but it stirred something deep inside me. the seriousness of my choice smacked me in the face – hard, and it’s time to step it up, put it into high gear and make 2016 a year of strength, motivation and positivity. oh and organization, cause that never hurts, eh? can i get a hell yeah + a slow handclap, please?
so those are a few of my biggest resolutions of the year. as cliche as I personally feel new year’s resolutions can be, it still feels good to look back, reflect, set goals and move forward. and with that in mind, i give you a peek at my favorites from the 2015 wedding season. i can’t wait to make more work, meet new people and capture more love than ever. peace, love & happy new year to ya’ll!
