I squealed with delight when I walked in the door and saw the abundance of natural light pouring through the windows of Meg + Matt's beautifully restored Michigan home. You'll understand in a minute. This family, new baby Molly + pup Maggie made for a wonderful morning in home session. Here are a few of the highlights from the day.

Baby Claudia has been in the world for just shy of two months and she's just as perfect as everyone could have hoped. I've known her mom for such a huge portion of my life that it feels so much more important than just a good friend having a child. It feels monumental. And it's so hard to put into words how I feel when I hold her and cuddle her as she falls asleep. I can only hope that I'll get to experience motherhood someday. I had the pleasure of photographing the Forgacs family with adorable Jemma again this summer! We braved an extremely humid Sunday morning for these family shots at Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor. They turned out so sweet, don't you think? ~hmn

As we grow older and my close friends start families of their own, I always feel so spoiled when I get to spend just a few hours with them catching up. Something as simple as an impromptu picnic at the park made for the perfect summer evening setting for these photos of Lyla. I've watched her grow up - mostly in awe of how quickly time flies. It seems like I blinked and she's now nearly 3! Her personality has started to emerge and having photographic evidence of our night just seemed appropriate. Love you guys!
