The Nesting Farm – Ann Arbor Family Session

A little farm outside of Ann Arbor on a warm, spring evening was the setting for this family session. I walked into a beautiful old farmhouse, gratefully accepted a glass of wine and began photographing a family that I had never met, yet felt instantly connected to. We wandered inside and out, casually snapping photographs as the three kids warmed up to both me and camera. It had been a rough weekend; my mom had been hospitalized, having undergone an emergency surgery and I was eager to set worries aside for a few hours and focus on something else. The…

Sonya + David – Birmingham, MI Engagement Session

This intimate, in-home e-session was the perfect mix of casual and chic. The day was SO gorgeous, I think the temperature hit 80 degrees! We were able to do a few photos on the front porch with the pup. I love how these images turned out, so. much. love. I can't wait for Sonya and David's wedding this August! Colleen and Rob – Ferndale Intimate Wedding

Intimate weddings are my absolute favorite thing ever. They're relatively stress free for the bride and groom and it's a simpler way to share the day with those who are closest to you. This small wedding took place at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Ferndale, MI. The late afternoon light was spectacular and this tiny church couldn't have been sweeter. Someone else, please get married here and call me! Here's a peek at their afternoon!

Sacksteder Family At Home – Ypsilanti, MI

The Sacksteder's live nearby in a beautiful open and airy home, full of mementos, artwork and greenery; all the makings of a Design Sponge or Apartment Therapy home tour. I randomly met Amy & her family at the local coffee shop, first noticing Elliot's adorable, wobbly walk as he tottered around tables, back to dad and around tables again. It's always interesting to meet new people, so a few months later I followed up with Amy and we scheduled an in-home shoot. I spent the morning with their family, wandering around their home & photographing sweet Elliot and his parents.…

Liz + Blair e-session at WSU in Detroit, MI

I'm never a fan of winter engagement shoots, mainly because I'm not a fan of winter itself. I hate being cold and I'm always afraid of photos featuring red, sniffly noses. Lucky for us, we were able to start our session inside the McGregor Memorial Center on Wayne State University’s campus in Detroit. This building is so funky and we were all loving the mid-century modern vibe which I tried to capture in this set of photos. It’s always exciting to discover a new location and I found myself wanting to return during the spring to see the reflecting pools and…
