A little farm outside of Ann Arbor on a warm, spring evening was the setting for this family session. I walked into a beautiful old farmhouse, gratefully accepted a glass of wine and began photographing a family that I had never met, yet felt instantly connected to. We wandered inside and out, casually snapping photographs as the three kids warmed up to both me and camera. It had been a rough weekend; my mom had been hospitalized, having undergone an emergency surgery and I was eager to set worries aside for a few hours and focus on something else. The evening light was gorgeous, providing just the right amount of warmth and depth to the photos below, further reigniting my love for casual, easygoing family sessions at home.
